A Question for My Followers

Hi everyone! Since my little forced hiatus here I've been wondering what exactly you would like to see in the CDVs, so I can have a better idea of what to look for. So please comment and tell me your preferences regarding:

*age group (babies? toddlers? children? teens? adults? middle-aged? elderly?)
*gender (boys/girls/adult women/adult civilian men)
*styles (what sort of dresses? Do you have a preference for plaid prints? should I look for fur items? Fashion bonnets? Aprons? Cold-weather clothes? tunics for little boys? Men without beards? what kind of hairstyles would you be more interested in seeing?)
*objects (CDVs with books? dolls? toys? hankies? other items in particular?)

These questions are just to get your mind rolling, so please post anything that comes to mind, or anything you've been looking for in particular. I'll still be posting my personally chosen CDVs (when I can find some!), but with your comments in mind I can pick more varied choices as well. :)

Also, if you have a CDV or two (or three) that you've bought and scanned or saved a (non-copyrighted) image of, feel free to send it my way! I'd be happy to post it and I'll give you full credit. :)

  1. Definitely keep it up! I love seeing images of just about any age or gender, but especially young women in their 20's are my preferred age group. :) I love seeing books and hats especially in the photos! I adore seeing all the different types of millinery. So you could keep an eye out for that.

    In Christ and with love,

  2. I'm a historical costumer, and I learn by seeing how it was REALLY done and worn. I love seeing photos that show details of the ladies gowns and hats, and hair, especially if they're really detailed. These are a great resource. Thank you!

  3. Have you thought about including images from the later Victorian era? I do love your blog and have referenced it numerous times. Yours is one I always love to see show up in my Reading List!

  4. I love your blog! We have done civil war reenacting for over 10 years and I always reference actual photos when making garments. There aren't usually photos of women in 'camp dresses' but I do enjoy the few Ive seen. Thanks for all the great photos you post!
